The Center for Psychiatric Care and Professional Psychophysiological Selection of the State Institution "Territorial Medical Association of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Ivano-Frankivsk Region" is a departmental specialized medical and preventive institution established to conduct psychoprophylactic work, medical psychophysiological professional selection, psychiatric, narcological, psychological assistance in the scope of a specialized (psychoneurological and narcological) dispensary of the health care authorities of Ukraine to employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, police officers, military personnel, and other health care workers.
The Center is a structural subdivision of the State Institution "Territorial Medical Association of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Ivano-Frankivsk region" and consists of outpatient psychiatric care departments and psycho prophylaxis and professional psychophysiological selection room.
The Center for Psychiatric Care and Professional Psychophysiological Selection of the MIA of Ukraine in the Ivano-Frankivsk region was established by the order of the Head of the MIA of Ukraine in Ivano-Frankivsk region №132 May 18, 1994, November 2015 - the Center for PD and PPV of the
"TMO of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Ivano-Frankivsk region". The created system put on a higher level the provision of psychiatric care to the personnel of the internal affairs bodies.
According to the standard staffing, approved by the order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine from 28.10.97 № 732, there are 8 staff positions in the Center for MH and PPV, and all of them are occupied. These are the following positions: the position of head of the Center, the head of the outpatient psychiatric care department, the head of the psycho-prophylaxis and professional psychophysiological selection room, a psychiatrist, a practicing psychologist, and a nurse of the outpatient psychiatric care department, a functional diagnostics doctor and a nurse of the psycho prophylaxis and professional psychophysiological selection room.
The main tasks of the Center are:
1. Provision of psychiatric, narcological, and psychological assistance, conducting mandatory preliminary and periodic psychiatric and preventive narcological examinations, including for the purpose of military medical examination, to persons entitled to medical care.
2. Conducting psychiatric examination, psychodiagnostic examination, medical psychophysiological professional selection of candidates for police service and training in educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, transferred, dismissed police officers, servicemen of the NGU, and other persons undergoing a medical examination in the military medical commission.
3. Studying the state of mental health of persons entitled to medical care and taking measures to improve it.
4. Conducting psychoprophylactic work among persons entitled to medical care, promoting a healthy lifestyle.
5. Conducting medical selection based on mental health and professional selection based on individual psychophysiological characteristics of candidates for police service and training in educational institutions of the MIA, NGU in accordance with regulatory documents.
6. To organize and conduct mandatory preliminary and periodic psychiatric and preventive drug examinations of police officers and servicemen of the NGU.
7. Provision of outpatient psychiatric, and drug treatment assistance to persons entitled to medical care, examination of their mental health, diagnosis of mental and behavioral disorders, and treatment and supervision of persons suffering from mental and behavioral disorders on an outpatient basis.
8. Providing consultative psychiatric care, if necessary - prescribing and conducting treatment for persons suffering from mental and behavioral disorders, who are undergoing examination and treatment in medical and preventive institutions of TMO.
9. Organizing and conducting, in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine, consultative and dispensary supervision of persons entitled to medical care.
10. Conducting, in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine, medical examination for temporary disability of persons undergoing outpatient treatment for mental and behavioral disorders, and organizing the work of the psychiatric medical advisory committee of the center.
11. Preparation and submission to medical and social expert commissions of medical documents for patients with mental and behavioral disorders in order to conduct an examination of long-term or persistent disability.
12. Psychological and psychiatric support of police officers, and servicemen of the NGU during the performance of operational and service tasks in the event of man-made and natural emergencies, as well as during the protection of public order in conditions of mass riots and holding mass events in accordance with the requirements of the normative legal acts of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
